2012 Yamaha Super Review Pictures

The 2012 Yamaha Super Tenere is an all-new entry in the adventure genre that was kick started by the venerable BMW GS-series bikes thirty years ago. Going up against the mighty BMW— as well as newer adversaries like the KTM 990 Adventure, Triumph Tiger 1050, and Ducati Multistrada 1200— is no small feat.

How does this lower-priced newbie from Japan take on the European competition? I spent two days in Arizona riding the Yamaha Super Tenere across trails and highways to see if this $13,900 adventure bike lives up to its superlative name.
Yamahas oddly named Super Tenere is pronounced "Tey-ney-rey," and though the bikes lineage spans nearly three decades and includes twin-cylinder ancestors like the XTZ750 Super Tenere (which claimed six Paris to Dakar Championships), the all-new 2012 Yamaha Super Tenere marks the models debut in the United States.

On the Road: Predictable power, stable handling, and all-day comfort:
In keeping with the oversized proportions of the adventure touring bike genre, the Super Tenere exudes a rather towering stance. Propping it up onto the center stand requires a considerable shove, and standing on the foot lever with my 185 pound mass alone wouldnt do it; I had to roll it backwards while jumping on the lever to get 575 pounds of bike up on the stand.

Fire up the big parallel-twin powerplant, and it comes to life with a mellow bass note. The clutch requires moderate lever pressure while the shifter engages with a solid, but easy-to-engage click.

In motion, the first thing youll notice about the Super Teneres power delivery is its flatness, which can come across as either predictable or lazy, depending on your outlook; like the R1, the Super Teneres actual speed is usually faster than the seat of your pants might suggest. It should be noted that the elevation of my ride surpassed 7,000 feet in some areas, which has the effect of diminishing engine power. Regardless, the engine rpms never sound quite as high as they actually are, and glancing down at the digital speedometer invariably reveals that youre going faster than you think; there were numerous moments on the interstate when illegal velocities crept up quicker than expected, and triple-digit speeds were attained with ease. A tall sixth gear ran the engine at a lazy 3,500 rpm at 70 mph.

"Sport" on the right handgrip-controlled throttle mode selector offers a relatively crisp response to throttle twists, while "Touring" is predictably milder and smoother, especially on the low end. Though not as punchy as the mills found in the BMW GS or Ducati Multistrada, the Super Teneres crossplane crankshaft lends it a mild "pulsing" quality that keeps it from suffering terminal blandness.

Young modifier named Tugi Nazareth who came from Pekanbaru also showed tajinya by changing the Yamaha Scorpio Z in 2008 to a motorcycle that looked vicious street fighter.

"This is an original idea, Tugi has managed to learn how to modify only in 2 years. This is his first work, and Im projecting him as the embryo of a future builder," beber the teacher that his accent is still porous.

Tugi wild idea by Topo later he directed to be shed into the Scorpio Z Artiansyah owned or commonly called biah this. "With the insert from me he has managed to create an elegant modification," said founder Tauco Custom modification of this workshop.

Scorpio body Z which impressed responsibility made Tugi become more muscular with a new body made of special plate material galvasis 0.8 mm. When seen from the design and materials used are very similar Tugi clear the teacher. Like the ancient proverb, the fruit falls not far from the tree. "

Even in this thousands of december this vehicle is being produced ... but unfortunately the news about when the Yamaha FZ 16 will be sold freely is not so clear. Then the fate how Yamaha Vixion has long been present, even for the sale felt pretty good. But how do we reply yamaha compare the two vehicles that had the same engine capacity of 150cc. When viewed in the technical specifications, Yamaha Vixion superior to the Yamaha FZ 16 for Vixion been using SOHC injection technology and is using the radiator. But when seen from the shape and character of the existing design FZ 16 will look much more fierce, muscular and solid. The reason is the base model is used FZ1 Yamaha FZ16 and that is true streetfighter.

Following advantages compared FZ 160 with V-Ixion:

- Rear tire size is 140 FZ 16 recorded greater than even Kawasaki Ninja 250R.
- FZ16 exhaust form that resembles Bison YZF-R6 far more beautiful than the stock exhausts V-Ixion.
- Tanks FZ16 great addition to supporting performances are also supporting the comfortable
- Headlights FZ16 more modern headlamp ketibang V-Ixion is still retro
- Although the radiator but the tuna looks FZ160 engine management, while the V-Ixion looks slim / small.
- The overal FZ16 similar form so that more handsome bull V-Ixion than the conventional.
- With a conventional engine, less sophisticated jutru Vixion have more value for riders who want to make modifications to the engine much faster.

2012 Yamaha YZ450F

The YZ450F already stands apart on the motocross scene with its rearward-slanting cylinder, the Yamaha claiming improved performance from its offset cylinder and centralized weight. These revolutionary design elements have become fundamental to the 2012 Yamaha YZ450F and remain unchanged. But to keep the YZ450F one step ahead of the competition, the 2012 model will offer revisions to its fuel injection, suspension and tires. Aesthetically the model also gets new color profiles, which include black rims and a gold-colored drive chain.

2012-Yamaha-YZ450F

One thing Yamaha has done for the new model year is update its fuel map and optimize the ignition timing. The goal was to create a smoother throttle response and generate more low to mid-range power with improved roll-on performance. The 2012 Yamaha YZ450F also includes a 42.0mm longer silencer with reduced sound output in keeping with new AMA Racing regulations which limit exhaust to 94db.

Shifting on the 2012 model was given a boost by changing the locating pin to make the shift bar more rigid. The claimed result is more precise shifting on the 450F, particularly between second and third.

Both the front fork and rear shock have been tweaked to improve bump absorption and to reduce dive while cornering. Up front the fork is revalved for low to mid-speed compression damping. Meanwhile, the shock not only has revised rebound characteristics, but also gets a new valve setting for more high-speed compression.

2012-Yamaha-YZ450F-White

Dunlop Geomax MX51 tires replace the existing D742FA and D756 rubber, with Yamaha touting improved traction as a result. The 2012 YZ450F is also adorned with black rims on its blue bike instead of the traditional silver.

In addition to these updates, the GYTR Power Tuner returns for the 2012 YZ450F which allows users to adjust fuel and ignition maps manually. The device is extremely useful for those who wish to squeeze the most out of their bike on those weekend trips to the track. More than nine points are customizable, and users can also get info on engine running time, water and intake temperature, throttle position and rpm.
